Christmas Tree Sales

Weekends in December - Woolworths, Ferntree Gully, Cnr of Burwood Hwy and Brenock Park Drive. We have plenty of trees for sale - freshly cut each weekend. 

Australian Jamboree 2025

6-15 January 2025 - The Australian Jamboree (AJ) is a camp which is held every three years by Scouts Australia. The Jamboree is traditionally held in early January and typically runs for ten nights. Each Scouting Branch (State) is the effective host of the Australian Jamboree and takes responsibility for its management. Jamboree activities are a mixture of on-site and off-site activities that seek to challenge the participants and provide a life changing learning experience for Scouts.

Boost your Adventure!

19-21 Oct 2024 - 1st Ferntree Gully Scouts will join approximately 925 other joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers at a huge camp at Harris Park Scout camp, Mt Martha. The camp will boost the badge-work of all levels of the scout members.

FTG Market Sausage Sizzles

May-Oct 2024 - On the 1st Saturday of every month form May to October 2024, 1st FTG Scout Group will be running a Sausage sizzle at the Fentree Gully Village Market.

Knox Festival

2 March 2024 - Knox Festival is a Celebration of the Knox community for families and all to see what's going on across the City of Knox. 1st Ferntree Gully Scouts will have a community sttand where we will have a (mini) Basketball Connect-4 game for all to play (for free) and have a bit of fun.

Clean-up Australia

17 March 2024 - With Knox Festival on 2Mar24, we've decided to move our clean-up Australia activities to 17Mar24 to allow all of our group to participate. We will be cleaning up our stretch of Ferny Creek - from Brenock Park Drive to Glenfern Road. We hope to clean up our creek and make it more pleasent for everyone to enjoy and to reduce the amount of rubish that is flowing down into the sea (eventually).

Christmas Tree Sales

9-10th December - Woolworths, Ferntree Gully, Cnr of Burwood Hwy and Brenock Park Drive. This year, our supplies have been really challenged, so we will be selling trees for one weekend only and when they're gone, that's it. We have no hope of re-supply. This has been due to the rain for the past two years stunting the growth of the trees at the farm that we get our trees from. 

New Zealand Jamboree 2024

28 December 2023 - 8 January 2024 - The Australian Contingent will gather in Auckland on 28 December 2023 for a few days of patrol-based activities before travelling to the Mystery Creek Events Centre for the opening day of the Jamboree on 30 December 2023. The Jamboree runs until Sunday 7 January 2024 and the Contingent will return to Australia on Monday 8 January 2024.

We have three members attending the NZ Jamboree.

 

Stringybark Festival

15th of October, 2023 - an annual event celebrating all things homemade, home-grown, active, playful and local in 'our backyard'.  Stringybark Festival runs from 10am to 4pm at the Rowville Community Centre and surrounding parklands.


Boost

20-22nd of October 2023 - Boost is an annual camp organised by Scouts Victoria that provides an opportunity for any aged Scout to learn and develop their skills in a range of Outdoor Adventure skills. It is a unique experience that allows youth members to choose their own adventure, picking from a variety of activities in the Outdoor Adventure Skills framework, including Bushcraft, Bushwalking, Camping, Aquatics, Boating, Cycling, Paddling, and Vertical. 

Cuboree

25-29th of September 2023 - Cuboree is a huge camp for Cubs crom accross Victoria held at Gilwell Park, Gembrook. This five day camp is a huge amount of fun and guranteed to be loads of fun for all the Cubs that attend.

District Survival Camp

6-8 October, 2023 - The Mt Dandenong District survival camp This camp will be a 2 night camp with the view to get participants up to level 4 Survival and maybe some elements of level 5 Survival.  Scouts will need to build a shelter (Bushcraft L3) and build a bush hut and sleep in it (L4) 

World Scouting Day

Otherwise known and Scout Scarf Day, August 1st remembers the very first Scout Camp at Brownsea Island. All current and past scouts are encouraged to wear a scout scarf all day - at work, at school, while you're travelling while your at home - to remember that first camp with Lord Robert Baden-Powell

World Scout Jamboree 2023

WSJ2023 is about to kick off for 45,000 lucky scouts who will have the time of their lives, meeting scouts from all over the world, sharing stories and making friends. It promises to be an incredible experience.
